Jesus tells us for the third time that he must die.  A ransom is paying a debt or exchanging something to free something else of equal or lesser value.  Love always sacrifices.  The lover always loses something so his beloved might have something.  Love humbles, but the disciples think that following Jesus is one of gaining power.  Rather Jesus says his way is giving power away as he gives his life as a ransom for many.  His disciples must give as well.

In this series we look Jesus in the Gospel of Mark.  What we find is that he is wild and unpredictable.  Jesus didn’t fit the people’s preconceived notions of what God’s promised rescuer would be like and he doesn’t fit neatly in any of our boxes as well.  He’s untamable, a little unsafe, but good.  Listen to this series and discover the wild love of Jesus and the story of our world and your life. This series is based off of Tim Keller’s book, King’s Cross and draws on various other resources as well.
