We are always at the mercy of the Trap of Power.  We think we can do something to secure our own destinies and our futures.  Like the rich young ruler, we trust in what we have and what we’ve accomplished and we have a hard time letting go and trusting in God instead.  No matter what we do, we always are left with a nagging feeling like something is missing. Money, and the power it give us, is our trap.  The trap is thinking that we can save ourselves.

In this series we look Jesus in the Gospel of Mark.  What we find is that he is wild and unpredictable.  Jesus didn’t fit the people’s preconceived notions of what God’s promised rescuer would be like and he doesn’t fit neatly in any of our boxes as well.  He’s untamable, a little unsafe, but good.  Listen to this series and discover the wild love of Jesus and the story of our world and your life. This series is based off of Tim Keller’s book, King’s Cross and draws on various other resources as well.
